Six months at T&M AI and IT Solutions shipping six enterprise portals as the only designer — HR-tech, EdTech and sales intelligence. Plus one product built from thirty days of my own primary research, now under peer review.
Each case names a decision that was argued about, and what it cost.
Real product UI.A PRD, a UI spec and a functional spec each described a different product. I built a decision table that resolved every conflict in one page — then threw away my own indigo palette when the director said it read as a startup, not a boardroom.
Ten participants, 22 check-ins, 30 days. The 83% completion collapse late in the cycle killed my long check-in form — the product had to ask less exactly when it wanted to ask more.
Present/absent could not describe a workforce that travels. Nine statuses — outdoor, travelling, at-event, WFH — became first-class, so a manager reads the day without opening a report.
Student, professor and supervisor share a product without becoming three of them.
Four gated stages and four document states, each change written to an audit trail HR can defend.
Initiation → clearance → settlement → dispatch → completed, with settlement hard-blocked until all four departments sign off.
Aria asks real questions, scores each answer, and names the fix — for students with nobody to rehearse with.
On existing products I took knowledge transfer from developers and walked every screen myself, listing the gaps a dev-first build had skipped.
Every product got a written guideline — users, tokens, component rules, icon sources — before a single screen. That document is why six products don't look like six accidents.
Flows start on paper. Then a phased, screen-by-screen prompt sequence drives high-fidelity output. AI accelerated the execution; the framing and the decisions stayed mine.
I packaged implementation-ready artifacts and sat with developers through the build, answering the questions specs never cover.
Six-plus SaaS portals across HR-tech, EdTech and sales intelligence, under director-set timelines. Ran requirement sessions for new builds; took full knowledge transfer and audited every screen on existing ones. Authored the design system for each product, then worked with developers through implementation.
Designed and ran a longitudinal mixed-methods study: 10 participants, 22 structured check-ins across a 30-day cycle. Co-authored “Emotionally Adaptive UI/UX for Menstrual Cycle Tracking,” submitted to Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters — currently under review.
